  A very poor meal - and a shabby experience. I would not recommend this place as there are truly lovely eating places in central Wanganui. Ive been here several times before because of the setting - its always been less than expected but ok. This time I immediately identified the the meal as a rather greasy commercial and frozen product - not fresh - but it was passed off as such. I inquired - and the frozen (and unsatisfactory) food was confirmed so I decided to ask for my money back. The staff were pleasant but looked stressed, and the Manager was abrupt, impatient and very stressed. He told me to leave the premises and that I would not get my money back. We had a baby with us and 3 other family and had already spent over $100 there. I wasnt offered another meal - nor offered an apology about the food. Nor an apology for the Manager's "misunderstanding" about contradicting staff and stating the food was freshly made on the premises - when it wasnt .
  I was then told told to leave the premises or the Police would be called. Such drama and power games!! He also criticised me for not inquiring about whether the dish was commercially produced or made by them!!
  I said actually he shouldnt be passing frozen pre-packaged food off as their own. So it's- Buyer Beware!!
  It's such a pity this matter was not handled with professional courtesy - as it's a great location. Simple courtesy and professionalism were lacking in the Manager's behaviour and attitude - and we wont go again. And we don't recommend the place to any person.

  Was a lovely experience with my family. My son is dairy free so we ordered the frittata for him, was so divine I found myself sneaking bites! My partner, rest of our family and I had a variety of the breakfast meals- again very happy with the food quality and the tastiness. The hot chocolates were also made to our liking which impressed us all. Not only a good atmosphere but good food! We will be back ☺️
